OPEN SEASON!

Hey guys, It's Lilz! :) Sorry, that we haven't been updating. Busy  with school work. Well, guess what? It's jumping season! The first show starts tomorrow. We(Students under Tita Mia) have been training for the whole week. Tiring. Well, I bet everybody trains before every show. If you don't, well, you should. But don't get your horse too tired the day before. Tiring your horse too much the 2 days before the show itself, may make your horse lame. :( Which, I'm sure none of you would want. But somehow, you need to get your horse tired so that during the day of the show, she wouldn't be fresh or hyper. FRESH= fresh out of the stable, very stiff and cranky.(for me). The jumps this week was very interesting. We did figure 'S' jumps. They're are really tight turns. For helping you learn to always be straight when it comes to a jump. I wish I could show a drawing of it, but I can't. Stupid blogger. XD Anyway so now, I'm gonna give you guys some tips about like 'what-to-do' blah blah blah, when it comes to show jumping competitions. (PS. Just got some from Tita Mia)

TIPS:

1. NEVER EVER CHANGE YOUR MIND RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE FENCE. - This is the most important thing in show jumping. So keep in mind. Like, always. The last thing on earth you would want to do during a show is change your mind in front of the jump. Just don't change your mind in front of the jump! Please! It's okay if you're horse is in the wrong lead, he's really long or maybe because of other reasons that irritates you, don't hesitate. You may get him back after the jump, but always stay alert for the next.

2. HALF-HALTS IN THE CORNERS.-Half-halts or steadying your horse, is very important during turns, corners or even when you feel flat. Half-halts are for keeping your horse in a short and bouncy canter.
CANTER IN A TEA CUP= This is a term Tita always uses. It means, that always keep your horse in a short canter. Feel the bouncy-ness. But don't bang on the back of your horse. Like your horse is cantering in a tea cup. :) Half-halts. I usually use them in corners, so that my horse would always be steady when it comes to the jump, and she is not flat and cantering in big strides. Not only is half-halts used in corners and turns, but they can be done even when you're inside lines, or maybe bending lines? I'm not sure with bending lines though.

3. SIT BACK- Do I seriously still have to explain this?

4. DON'T LOOK BACK - I learned this through experience. When you hear a pole fall down behind you, don't ever look back. That way you'll be off balance. Plus, you might be late for the next jump. Trust me, been there done that.

I don't want such along entry since there are so many other things to remember your nose will bleed..so I'm cutting it. But hopefully these things help you guys! Loves!
